How to make your own simple syrup

Simple syrup is a key cocktail building block, and it's so easy to make at home. It's much more economical than using store bought, and all it takes is two ingredients!

Start out by measuring your sugar and water into a small saucepan.

Heat on medium-high, stirring occasionally, until the mixture boils.

Let it simmer for a few minutes, and then take it off of the burner to cool to room temperature.

After it cools completely, bottle it up and store it in the fridge for 2 to 4 weeks, discarding at any sign of mold.

There are a couple of other methods to making simple syrup, too! You can read about them by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
