The Peanut Butter Cup Martini is made for chocolate and peanut butter lovers! The Reese's peanut butter cup is one of my favorite candies, and so I had to make this flavor combination into a cocktail. It's easy to make and so tasty!
This creamy cocktail is rich and sweet, perfect for sipping during Christmas or all throughout winter. It would also make a perfectly decadent Valentine's Day dessert drink!

Peanut Butter in Cocktails
I used Skrewball peanut butter whiskey in this drink. It's a whiskey-based spirit that's infused with peanuts for a deep peanutty flavor. It's not as strong as true whiskey, and has sugar added, but at 35% alcohol it still packs a punch!
Skrewball makes it easy to get that peanut flavor in your drinks, but it's not the only way. Another great option is to infuse your own whiskey with chopped peanuts. Combine them in a mason jar for several days, and then strain out the peanuts. (I don't really recommend infusing with actual peanut butter, as it is really hard to strain out!)
Ingredients
You'll only need four ingredients for this drink, plus some optional (but delicious!) garnishes.
- Skrewball peanut butter whiskey
- Chocolate vodka
- Dark Creme de Cacao liqueur (make sure to get the dark kind)
- Heavy cream, or half and half
- Chocolate syrup, to drizzle (optional)
- Whole peanut butter cup candy (optional)
Substitutions
If you can't find Skrewball brand, there are some other peanut butter whiskies available. Ole Smoky Tenn Peanut Butter Whiskey is a good pick, or Ballotin Peanut Butter Chocolate Whiskey, since that one also has chocolate in the mix.
For the chocolate vodka, I used Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate vodka. If you don't have any, you can use even more of the peanut butter whiskey instead, or use plain vodka.
The creme de cacao brings sweetness and chocolate flavor. If you don't have it, you can substitute in some of the chocolate syrup instead.
Garnishes
There are a lot of ways you can garnish this drink! I went pretty simple, because I know drizzling chocolate into the glass is easy and still looks really fancy.
If you want to kick it up a notch, you can try chopping up some peanut butter cups and sticking them to the rim of the glass. I recommend using corn syrup or golden syrup to stick them on.
Of course, you can always choose to add a little dollop of whipped cream with some powdered peanut butter sprinkled on top for some extra peanut flavor!
Equipment
You'll just need some simple bar tools to make this drink. This includes a basic cocktail shaker and strainer, plus a jigger to measure the ingredients.
For the glass, a martini glass or coupe both work perfectly.

Instructions
If you're using a peanut butter cup for garnish, cut out a little wedge on one side where you'll attach it to the rim of the glass. Set it aside (and snack on the extra wedge, of course!)
Next, add all of your ingredients to the cocktail shaker. Add in the peanut butter whiskey and the creme de cacao.
Then add the chocolate vodka, and finally the cream.
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice, then seal it and give it 15-20 shakes.
Drizzle chocolate syrup into your serving glass.
Strain the drink into the glass. Then, add the peanut butter cup to the rim of the glass, and serve!
Hint: It helps to have a chilled glass, so when you drizzle the syrup, it will stick to the sides more easily without dripping.
Top tip
This is a great drink to make in a big batch for a party! Just combine everything in a big pitcher, along with ½ ounce of water per serving so you don't have to shake with ice later.
Refrigerate the pitcher until you're ready to serve!
Note: A quick batching trick is that if you change ounces to cups in the recipe, you'll make 8 servings.
